Konami Ufo Full 9 Piece Set Including Both Ellis Sid

Long out of production, this is one of the incredibly detailed gerry anderson sreies of candy toys from the japanese firm konami. These models need little or no assembly and provide the collector with a highly desireable collection requiring little room to display. For this auction i have put together all of the elements that konami made as representations of the vehicles + 2 versions of one of the exotic space trackers based on moonbase from gerry andersons 1st live action tv series, ufo. This groundbreaking series saw anderson move away from supermarionation to using 'real' actors and actresses along with the by now expert use of model miniatures. Included in this set are both of the rare versions of lt. Gya ellis as played by the lovely gabrielle drake. The vehicles measure up to aroudn 9cm. Included in this auction are1/ skydiver (with removeable sky 1). 2/ interceptor. 3/ sky 1.4/ shado mobile (did you know this was loosely based on the joe 90 explosives truck? ).

5/ lunar carrier (with removeable lunar module). 6/ ufo. 7 & 8 / lt gay ellis.

(n. B. The first figure of gay ellis is much taller than the 2nd release, around 12cm as opposed to around 9cm).

9/ s. I. D. Space intruder detector (not released as part of the ufo series, but as 50% of the konami premium pack with either fireball xl5 or a rescue eagle from space 1999). I think that the sid is quite excellent and am surpirsed that no model maker has thought to make an injection model of it.

The designer of sid was mike trim and as you can see from the 'head' at the front of sid, he was inspired by the russian designed vostok series of spacecraft in use from i think the 1960's onwards in various incarnations. In fact, he designed sid so that an interceptor could dock with sid, with the interceptor's being held in a docking position by two 'jaws' situated at a poitn below the 'head'. Very cleverly thought through ~ i had wondered how on earth anyone gto on board sid but now i know ~ & so do you.

So, why buy this series of outstanding models piecemeal when you can buy them all in one go? Considering what many of these pieces are selling for individually i have priced this at what i feel is a reasonable level given the number of models involved and the inclusion of not one but both versions of gay ellis. The winner will receive the models in the unopened original plastic wrapping with instructions plus a sample box. (except sid whihc will be in the plastic tray it came in as part of the premium pack).
